Women in the restructured Fairfax newsroom

Kate Cox has been appointed editor of Sydney’s Sun-Herald in an organisation-wide shake-up of key positions on Fairfax newspapers.

Cox marks one of the more significant appointments to come out of the Fairfax announcement on Wednesday afternoon. The current editor of the Sunday Life mag in the Herald, Cox takes the helm of the paper as one of its younger editors, and its third editor in as many years. She’s spent 12 years with Fairfax, and was appointed Sunday Life editor in December 2011. She previously launched and edited the Sun-Herald’s S section.
