Thank your parents for being grandparents
Readers talk back
Must reads site wide
Yesterday, we explored the amount of unpaid hours grandparents put into childcare every year.
According to COTA, the national body representing older Australians, grandparents are contributing around $250 million in unpaid childcare hours every year.
In NSW alone, the figure is around $90 million with 10 to 20% of over 64-year-olds putting in the unpaid hours.
As a result of sharing these figures yesterday, we found plenty of readers are keen to outline how their parents have assisted them with the kids and in getting back to work.
They're stories that show how with a little bit of support, women can get on with their careers, especially when they're unable to access structured childcare arrangements.
We'd love to hear more from you on how your parents have helped.
