How to create a photo album using your iPhone photos and an app

When was the last time you printed photos and arranged them in a photo album? The time-consuming process has virtually disappeared, such has been the impact of technology. When I look back through our hard copy albums the images end before my now 18-year-old started high school.

I have hundreds of photos of the boys since then but they are stored on my computer desktop, backed up on disks, in my Facebook photo albums, on Instagram and now somewhere in the cloud. You need to have a pretty good memory to recall all of the great images as those photos aren’t in picture frames or albums that you can hold and flick through on a lazy Saturday afternoon.

It is now possible to arrange your photos in an album online and then purchase a hard copy version of the album. A friend did exactly that to showcase her family’s European holiday last year. The book looked amazing but clearly required far more time and thought than I have the capacity for in my near future.

I have talked seemingly for years about arranging the hundreds of photos into photo albums that can be easily shared and viewed by friends and family. An iPhone app called Keepsy looks like the answer. You can do it all via the app on your iPhone. In just a few clicks you can place photos in any order you please via the app. You can do it on the go. When you’re happy with the layout of the album there is a simple online ordering and payment process. I am going to try to create my first album this weekend and see if I can unearth some memories that have disappeared into space.

Here’s how to do it if you want to give it a go too.
