Greetings from the new Editor - Women's Agenda

Greetings from the new Editor

This is my first piece as the Editor of Women’s Agenda, and I have to admit to being a little nervous. Georgie Dent, our editor for the last two years, set the bar very high.

More than that though, I am excited about this role, in large part that’s precisely because Georgie set that bar so high.

I met Georgie and Angela only a few months ago, and the thing that was immediately apparent was that Women’s Agenda was not just a job for either of them. It’s an ethos, a way of thinking about the world, and they lived and breathed it in everything they do. And because of that, Women’s Agenda is not just a publication, it’s an expression of belief that women are strong, successful, interesting, diverse, inclusive, fiercely intelligent and knowledgeable about a huge range of topics. That career, ambition, learning and passion are an integral part of women’s lives, and they are all things we celebrate and encourage in other women as well as in ourselves.

That ethos is why I was so thrilled to be given this opportunity, I hope it will show as clearly in what I do as it does in the other amazing women who work with Women’s Agenda.

We’ve got some great things planned for Women’s Agenda over the next few months, Angela laid out some of it last week and there will be more to come. Upgrading the website will be the first step; finding new voices, more stories, greater opportunities for women to talk about their lives and ambitions, and share them with our readers will be ongoing; continuing the high standards already set by Georgie and Angela will underpin it all.

I hope the Women’s Agenda readers will continue to have faith in the work we do, and I would love to hear your thoughts and responses to the articles we publish. Even if there are times when I don’t have time to respond to everything, I will read it all, take it seriously and work with our readers to keep Women’s Agenda interesting, useful, entertaining and inspiring.

The future is very bright, I only hope you all enjoy it as much as I will.
