The Barossa Grape & Wine Association was formed in 2007 and is recognised as one of the major regional wine industry organisations of Australia. The success BGWA has experienced results from the commitment of Barossa growers and winemakers to actively work together and drive the next phase of growth for the Barossa wine industry.
There is now an exceptional opportunity for a highly motivated person to step into this most sought after leadership position with Australia's most famous wine region.
The BGWA Board is seeking adynamic, astute professional to strategically position the Barossa wine industry for continued national and international success.
Reporting to the board and leading a small team, the successful candidate will develop plans and programs to achieve the association's goals and objectives. Candidates will be comfortable combining strategic development with hands on performance and accountability.Commercial acumen with proven success in a leadership role is essential.
The role requires an outstanding communicator able to create strong, positive relationships within the region and with multiple external stakeholders such as government agenciesand wine media. Candidates will present with confidence and passion, and think laterally to develop innovative strategies and creative solutions from vineyard to glass.
Empathy with the wine industry, its people – growers and winemakers, its products, aspirations and challenges is central to this role. Tertiary qualifications in business management, marketing or other relevant field will be well regarded.
