The Monash University Museum of Art | MUMA is seeking an inspirational and accomplished contemporary curator to lead an innovative program of artistic excellence that is integrated with the intellectual and cultural life of the University.
MUMA offers a critical perspective on the recent history of art and culture, dedicated equally to Australian and international art and seeks to establish the museum as a dynamic site for cultural production, pedagogy and participation. The Monash University Collection of more than 1,800 works is a leading representation of contemporary Australian art.
Based in the cultural precinct of Monash University's Caulfield campus, the director will be responsible for the development of artistic programs across the University's campuses and collaborates with MADA - the Monash Faculty of Art Design and Architecture.
The director will have a specialised knowledge of Australian art, a broad knowledge of international contemporary art and a strong network of artists and curators.
